Directions for Heat Embossing:
1) Place your cardstock over a large piece of scrap paper.
2) Rub the Embossing Buddy across the paper or cardstock you want to emboss. (This keeps embossing powder from sticking anywhere but on the ink and leaving a smudge look where you don't want to.)
3) Stamp image with Craft, VersaMark®, or embossing ink.
4) Pour powder onto the inked image, making sure that the image is coated completely.
5) Shake (tap) off excess powder onto the scrap paper and funnel it back into its original container (to be used again!)
6) Heat the stamped image with the heat tool until the powder changes to a shiny liquid and raises. You will see the stamped image go from a dull to a bright shiny finish.
7) Allow embossed image to cool and dry.
Additional Tips:
1) Don't overheat the powder, as it can scorch the paper and also make your embossed stamped image look poor.
2) Try embossing with Classic pads when using vellum paper. Dye inks take longer to dry on vellum so embossing powders will adhere to the ink and can be embossed easier.
3) To add a brighter touch to computer-printed text, sprinkle embossing powder on the cardstock as it is coming out of the printer. Be fast! This is quick-drying ink!
4) Regular hair dryers do not get hot enough to melt the embossing powder, and generally blow too hard, sending the embossing powder right off the paper. You will need the proper heat tool.

And remember - stamping can be as "quick" or as "detailed" as you wish!
