Directions on how to use:
1) When using a large background stamp, place the stamp face up on your stamping surface.
2) Ink the stamp completely by tapping the ink pad on the rubber. (ink pad on top of stamp)
3) Place the card stock on the inked stamp. Cover the entire stamp with the cardstock, however, if the cardstock is smaller than the stamp, cover it with a scrap piece of paper as well.
4) Rub the card stock with smooth, firm strokes, making sure to rub all areas of the stamp and to keep the card stock from sliding. Try and make it even strokes from top to bottom or side to side with the same type of firmness each time.
5) Remove the scrap paper and carefully lift the card stock off the stamp.
Tips:
1) For a more subtle background, try the stamping technique - stamp off prior to stamping (softer image).
2) Another technique for subtle backgrounds is to ink a sponge and dab it on the background stamp.
3) Create a multicoloured background by applying two or more inks to the background stamp.
4) Remember, background stamps are another option to use instead of patterned paper. You create it in the co-ordinating ink (or an ink of your choice that will still co-ordinate) and it matches your layout beautifully!
