FIRST ATTEMPT AT A CARD LIKE THIS...........

Well since I am always game to learn new things, here is one I learned ALOT from!!  I created this card for my oldest daughter two nights ago.  She is turning 22 tomorrow and has always loved her teddy bear, so this seemed only fitting.

Information on upcoming changes to Stampin'Up

Good morning,

Have we all survived Scrapfest this year now?  LOL

I am VERY glad it is only once a year - expensive venture but always great to see new tools and items on the market for our hobby.

Speaking of which, for those of you that are interested in Stampin'Up products, we are currently changing our catalogue and a few other things.  For example, the New catalogue will now be available from June 1, 2012 - May 31, 2013.  So that is 1 annual catalogue and instead of several "mini" catalogues, we will be having 2 seasonal mini catalogues.  Stampin'Up is changing this to be better able to provide you with a longer period with which to order some of the "specials" we generally have offered for shorter periods of time.  And please be sure to check out the "retiring" list here:  http://204.228.150.61/docs/lastchance/en-CA/RetiredStamps_0412_en-CA.pdf

There are over 100 items retiring so please be sure to check it out.  The items on the retiring list are only available until May 31, 2012 while supplies last!

SCRAPFEST - KITCHENER APRIL 13-14, 2012

For those that live in the area, are you all going to this this Friday or Saturday???  It's the ULTIMATE "candy" store for those of us that are massively addicted to scrapbooking and stamping!!!  You can find vendors from every place possible, including Stampin'Up.  Be sure to go and check it out!!  Some vendors only take cash, and others take debt, and credit cards.  Make sure you have either with you.  I know there are ATM machines there, but I plan on getting my cash prior to going so I don't have to wait in long line ups just for that.

Have fun and be sure to "share" whatever goodies you find, make-n-takes you do, etc!!

TIPS FOR CARE OF YOUR STAMPS

Good day everyone,

Today I want to share some tips about long term care of your stamps.

As you will all agree with me I'm sure, stamps are just like any other "tools" we purchase for our trade / pleasure of crafting and as such, taking care of them is critical if they are to last.

I have personally found that no matter where you purchase your stamps, each company uses slightly different rubber.  Some hold the ink image on them darker than others, so it is really important that you clean them as best as possible right after use to help for the longevity of the stamp, not to mention to help with the clarity each time you use the stamp for your image.

I personally use two methods to clean all my stamps, no matter what make they are.  I use Stampin'Up's Scrup Pad and Stampin' Mist and I also use baby wipes afterwards.  I find using the baby wipes helps clean all the little nooks and crannies and definitely helps clean up dark inks off the stamp and helps to keep the stamp clean and ready for the next time you want to use it!

That's just my personal way of keeping my stamps clean and in the best shape possible for continual use over the years.

Easter is coming...are you ready?

Easter is fast upon us.  Do you have your cards, crafts made?  Or do you have a tradition to make stuff on Saturday with your kids like I use to?

I won't be making anything till Friday-Saturday.  Gotta hate when work gets in the way eh?

It's gonna feel like Christmas this month for me.  Waiting for my SU order, then Scrapfest, an all day crop, a card class and an album class!WOO HOO!  Luv this month!

NEW ALBUM IDEA - "TAKE TWELVE"

I came across this earlier and have started it myself.  Want to capture this year in a relatively easy way?  The idea is to take 12 photos of your everyday life on the 12th of each month and create 12 awesome scrapbook pages that feature 12 photos each or crop the pics and put all 12 for each month on one layout!

It's the perfect way to celebrate 2012!

What an awesome and easy way to creat an album!!!  Even if you missed Jan and Feb, just grab some pics you might have taken in those months and create a page for them!

STAMPIN' UP SCORING PLATE

 Hi there,

Do you have the SU Scoring Plate?  Want to "add" to it's use?  How about getting the Diagonal Scoring Plate?  All it does is fits right over top of the original scoring plate (& it is only $15.95).  You can create your own envelopes with designer series paper (one side plain and one side patterned so it looks like you created something really cool!)

SPONGING A LAYER

I found another really cool technique for either a card or a layout.  It is so easy and quick, you'll love it!!!

The only suggestion I would add to this is, if you are using copics to "blend" colours, then you truly need to use "X-Press It Blending Cardstock".  It is specifically for copic markers and blending.
