HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!

New year, new beginnings, new chances to learn new things and to get this site up and running better!!!! That is one of my priorities this year!!

I will be posting some pics of other cards I learned the technique of how to make. They turned out sooooo nice. But I did find out a valuable lesson - even being a die hard SU lover / demonstrator, I found out that in order to use these other products (markers), you HAVE to use specific cardstock or else it just DOESN'T work!! It won't blend properly, and it runs.........looks horrible........so lesson learned, even for me! But you could still use some of the ideas from these cards to make with various SU products, etc.

Other idea I learned. Remember, everything you learn you can apply to other products - like our SU line!

So how is everyone today? Have a good weekend? I sure did! Went to a class and learned some AWESOME techniques. NEVER too old to learn something new right? At any rate, I have only been able to finish two of the cards (one still needs a ribbon attached) but nonetheless, have a look. While these are not Stampin'Up products, there is no reason why we can't apply the same technique to some of our SU sets - i.e. Elebration stamp; Crazy for Cupcakes stamp; Days of Gratitude set; Friends Never Fade set; The Nicest Things set and so many more........Only thing is, while we could use 95% SU products, the marker would have to be a different product in order to get the full effect. But have a look and let me know what you think!

Learning New things

Had a fantastic day today! Went to a card class and learned alot about using Copic markers. Cool technique!! One to get used to and practice would definitely make it better over time. But I can also see how you could use some of our SU stamps to make these cards and our cardstock too. Actually could use all of our products except for the copics. Many thanks to Karen for her patience and kindness in showing things in detail!!

Beautiful time of year.......

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in Canada!!  Hope you have a safe, happy and relaxing holiday weekend with your families and take LOTS of pics to put in your scrapbook albums!!  Or get some great ideas from all the beautiful scenery we are starting to get for layouts or even for cards..........before we know it, that awful cold weather will be here so maybe start to sketch out some ideas for Christmas cards / layouts you would like to do.  Never too early to start. 

No turkey for me, hubby and I have to work and kids are away sooooooo.........instead I am going to turn my creativity to my craft instead of cooking this weekend.  I'm going to gather up some supplies, pre-cut a bunch of cardstock for some cards and bring it with me to work so I can hopefully get a few things done on my break.  If you're in the same boat as me this weekend, why not do what I'm doing?  Lets share our work at the end of the weekend shall we?

So, went to a group (Artful Inkers) stamp technique camp and had a blast! Learned how to make some beautiful new cards (pics to follow), met some very nice ladies, and got back into doing what I love - Stamping and Scrapping! Amazing how when you are forced away from doing things you love you get lazy and uncreative.......ah but the juices are starting to flow now and ideas are filtering in........Once I am home and rested (working), I will post some pics of the beautiful cards we made. In the mean time, does everyone know that Stampin'Up is listed as the Top 10 in Tools for 2011? Pretty cool!!!

So has anyone noticed I've been AWOL for quite awhile? Unfortunately life got in the way but I'm back!!! I would love to post some things I've made but my craft room is kinda off limits right now (filled with other things from other areas) while construction to repair most of my house is underway! But I am going to get back to filling you in on what's new and exciting with Stampin'Up and some of my partners in crime!!
